First Age

The First Age is identified with the Rise (and fall) of the Terran Empire. However, it was also the fall of the first Galactic Senate, a fact overlooked by many members of the modern senate, who tend to view its reconvening after the Battle for Sol as it's original time of founding.

[edit] The Rise of Terra
The Terran Empire was born from the Homesystem of Sol. After their initial period of discovery they stumbled across a Crit-Gate. Controlling this, and discovering that the Helios Network had no apparent power controlling it, the Terrans claimed it was their own and set out on the First Terran War of Expansion, assuming control of the Helios Network. Chaos ensued in the pacifist Senate, and it was overrun by the Terran Empire in less than half a century.
